Starting from scratch, the adventure began in spring 2018 with the acquisition of the first plot of Pinot Noir in the commune of Flanthey, in the Swiss canton of Valais. Several parcels of old vines on the slopes of Sierre were taken over in exchange for good care or leased, while others were bought over several years. After 5 years of parcel development, uprooting vines and hard work to bring certain plots back to life, the estate now covers 4 hectares with a total of 13 grape varieties spread between Sierre and Flanthey Chalais.
All the vines are grown organically and have been worked according to the rhythms of the moon since they were taken over. Although difficult to control on the steep slopes of the hillsides, the grass cover is maintained by hand, aided by light mechanisation. Biodynamic and natural preparations based on plants and seaweed extract are used to strengthen the plants and reduce the use of copper and sulphur.
All the estate's plots have been undergoing certified organic conversion (CH-BIO 006) since 2023, with the ultimate aim of obtaining the Bio-Suisse bud as soon as possible. In the cellar, all the wines are vinified with respect for the raw materials and the terroir, without adding unnecessary inputs and with limited doses of sulphites, in accordance with the Bio-Suisse specifications and scrupulously respecting the lunar calendar.
Great wines go hand in hand with great food, and the A wines have been selected by some of Switzerland's most prestigious chefs. A's wines are distinguished by their elegance and subtle flavours.
